Prayer for Self

For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, And His ears are open to their prayers. 1 Peter 3:12 NKJV

Scriptures tells us that we ought to always pray and that we must pray without ceasing (Luke 18:1; 1 Thessalonians 5:17).  In doing so, prayer may often be focused on the needs or situations of others and prayer for self may not be included.  In the hustle and bustle of daily living, care and attention must be given to self at times in order to maintain.  Self-care must include praying for self by self.  Find time to prayer for yourself whether at the beginning, middle, or end of the day.  Try journaling about your prayer time since the conversation with God may not always be the same. Listen for feedback from Him. Don’t ever neglect praying for others, for specific situations, or whatever the Holy Spirit leads you to pray for, but remember to include self.

An Evening Prayer for Self

Down to sleep this body I must lay as closure is brought to another day.

I’ll have sweet sleep through the night, for certainly it is my divine right.

Scriptures, dreams, new songs, and visions may enter my mind since the spirit within me is awake at all times.

In the morning when I rise, an Unseen Guest will be standing by my bedside.

I’ll take the time to kneel and pray, and surely give Him thanks for new mercies and another blessed day!
